I definitely am. I get to school at 7am, leave at 4:30-5. Then do 2-3 hours a night.

Any teacher working more than 45 hours a week isn’t managing their time that well! Leadership positions are a different beast though

You’ve just admitted to working 45-50 hours a week when you’re paid for 38. Exploitative either way.

As a second year teacher my philosophy is that if not done between 8 and 5:00 then I’ll do it tomorrow. After 5:00 Ive clocked out.

The problem is a full time teacher only gets paid for working 30 hrs per week but a normal teacher works 40-45hrs 🤷🏻‍♂️

I only work part time but I can easily do 7.30-5.30 at school and then come home and still have more to do on the days I don’t work. It’s ridiculous

I get to school most days at 7:30 and leave around 5 each today, only to do more work at home. So I’d say I work 60-70 hours a week as a teacher.

Federation is saying the average is 60 hours. I think the figure is a little inflated. I personally think 45-50 is more accurate
