🇲🇳 Mongolia | 4x4 Lada Niva off-road adventure through Mongolia: I was so happy to get this kind of car for my trip through the steppe and soviet towns of super beautiful Mongolia. The mighty Lada Niva can easily tackle really off-road tracks and in Germany it is really well know for doing so. In total I travelled 1500km from UB (Ulaanbaatar, capital of Mongolia) to Darkhan, Amarbayasgalant Monastery, Erdenet, Tsetserleg, Karakorum and back. Besides a lot of nature I explored the towns like Erdenet, where you can find even a large mosaic of the German Karl Marx! One of my highlights was Amarbayasgalant Monastery which is far away from the paved road and truly off the beaten track. It was crazy to spent time there alone with the monks. This reel is a little bit different from my other ones, showing more nature and the car in action but still some soviet relics. Hope you like it. . How-to 4x4 Mongolia: Actually paved roads are very easy to navigate but if you are leaving the paved roads it’s getting really hard, because in the ground you can find so many different tracks to all the gers / houses of the nomads. So I downloaded the satellite view of google maps, because you can see all the tracks and it’s kind of easy to find the way. I don’t have to mention there are no signs off-road :D As always fuel up your car at every gas station because I found many empty ones. It’s strange employees are present, but the gas station has no fuel :) Last but not least the new iPhone offers satellite SOS messages and you don’t need a satellite telephone anymore. However most of the time at least one ger was visible and I didn’t felt lost. Hope that helps. . Soundtrack: German song about the Lada Niva by the fabulous Kraftklub and Tokiohotel - This song was the perfect match for my road-trip and couldn’t get enough! .
