if you put the fruit flies in the fridge for a few minutes before working with them, it'll slow them down making it easier to handle them 😁

you can put the fruit flies in the fridge for about 5 mins and it slows them down a ton! they almost look dead but spring back once they get warm

you can use Alka seltzer to generate carbon dioxide to knock fruit flies out temporarily to transfer them easily
