They forget the amount of study time, unpaid placement hours, over runs, responsibility and stress involved. Some entry level jobs are paid more.

I once did 13 14hour shifts in a row, had 1 day off and did it again, working 90 hour weeks for minimum wage.

It amazes me that people always thinks doctors earn huge salaries. Unless you are an experienced consultant your salary is very average.
