@talon_sportscards: I love this hobby. I love watching Breakers pull big cards from thousand dollar boxes. I love watching @kengoldin push the limits with new auction heights. I love seeing new Celebrities like @champagnepapi come in and spend 6 figures in one rip. I love watching @lememe_james playfully make fun of it all while it happens. I love going to Frank and Sons with my pops and spending all of our money on boxes we probably can’t afford. But if there’s one thing I love MORE than all of that, is seeing the smile on my nieces faces when they pull the card they had no clue existed 5 mins before opening, even from a $60 box. I could’ve told her Reggie Miller was the chase and she would’ve been just as excited if she pulled it. The kids are our future and the hobby has turned their back on them over recent years. One of her favorite things to do is to go to target and search for boxes to open. She’s been 10x and not one retail basketball or football box has been available on the shelf for her to buy and open. It’s honestly sad. Every now and then, remember to put your ego aside and leave that last box on the shelf for a kid and if all else fails it’s ok to break a cheap $20-$50 wax box with your kids or family. It will bring back memories of why you originally got into the hobby in the first place as a kid and start them on your same path to where you are now.
