hit it from the side repeatedly where the oil feed hole is. they will pop right apart then.

I've had more lifters turn in the lifter tray and eat the cam lobes off than I have that just stayed deactivated

But you missed the root cause!!! The valve springs are weak and allow the lifter to slam against the lobe. Weak springs are ALWAYS the root cause!

I wonder if that's point of failure on low mileage ones as well. we've had them fail at 10k and less. love the LS hate tho from the peanut gallery

Did one with 52 miles on it. Wear isn’t an issue in the 21 and up.

Yep lock pin bores wear. And they lock. The less v4 mode gets used the less likely it is to happen.

Cut off wheels should have guarding, regardless of diameter. Poor EHS standards, but as long as it gets views

As a gm tech tech going on 3 decades I can say these lifters have been a big black eye for gm. breaks my heart

the pre afm motors were basically bullet proof . 2019 and up ALL lifters are afm and engine be can run down to 1 cylinder

you have the great motor. These lifters that fail so often are Afm lifters that deactivate cylinders . 2007 and up.
