In linguistics it’s called called prepausal-preconsonantal /l/positioning towards vocalised closed-back vowel [ʊ]. Yeah I somehow remembered that 😅

It’s called L-vocalisation, and it’s not that common on the east coast. I sometimes do it because my mum is from South Australia

defs heard us South Aussies sound more English. also we say words like plant & dance diff too

No, SA has always been more British-centric and loathe to be Australianised, hence the different accent. 😂 (1800/1900s SA elitism)
