If your gym doesn’t allow for this, then you don’t have to increase the weight: try pausing at the top/bottom of the rep!

you can also pull out the weight mount and chuck the plate on top for a better hold as the mount now runs through the weight

nah our cables go up in 2.4 kg every time so you really can't and there's barely any 1.25s

One thing i do is i start with 8 reps, increase to 10 then 12 and then i add 5-10lbs and start at 8 again
