Also the scorpio, possibly pictured last, was a smaller version of the ballista, more akin to what was actually used to take out Smaug (1/2)

Ok so I agree with the ballistas they could do damage to Smaug, but try hitting an airborne and fast target, the ballistas you depicted were slow

Nah I disagree. Smaug lost to a good shot, when in reality a dragon is the medieval equivalent of a nuclear bomb.

The black arrow is useless unless is hits Smaug’s underbelly and it took 1 shot to make a weak point and a lucky shot to hit its weak spot.
