I fly for a major airline carrier and advise you to NEVER put your dog down in the belly of the aircraft !!!! You travel with them in the cabin !!

We ended up paying about $3k to fly our dog to Germany. The military would have paid but I didn’t trust them to get her there and alive.

Ugh. I’m too afraid to let my dog ride in the bottom of the plane. I’ve heard so many horror stories. I’m glad it worked out!!!

I didn’t take my Great Dane. He’d be living in a 3 floor walk up instead of his normal farm 10 acres. He stayed with my parents and loved it.

Transatlantic cruises are another option. Only one line actually offers pet services (can’t remember name) to avoid flying. They can’t roam ship but..
