Replying to @_123madi_ 💚🐘 There is something truly beautiful about watching Somsak enjoy the freedom he was once denied. Today, he can relax peacefully beside the water at Laos Giants, drink whenever he is thirsty, eat to his fill, bathe whenever he pleases and wander wherever his heart takes him. 🌿❤️ But behind this peaceful moment lies a painful past. Somsak once lived with chains wrapped around his neck and limbs, restricting his movements and robbing him of the freedom every elephant deserves. Whenever we visited him, we found him swaying sadly, and we feared for his life. His suffering became so heartbreaking that his owners even considered putting him down. 💔 Today, those chains are gone. Every chain that once held him captive has been broken, and Somsak finally has the freedom to live on his own terms. Seeing him resting beside the water, enjoying his food and drinking peacefully fills our hearts with a happiness that words can hardly describe. After everything he endured, he finally has the chance to enjoy life without chains holding him back. 🥹💚 To everyone who helped make Somsak's rescue possible, thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Your kindness and generosity helped give him something priceless: a second chance at life. You helped turn his story from one of suffering and uncertainty into one of hope, healing and freedom. 🙏❤️ At Laos Giants, this is what we fight for every day: a future where elephants can live without chains, enjoy their natural behaviours and experience the peace they have always deserved.
