So a mixologist told us that you should never muddle mint just put it in a shaker with ice and shake hard otherwise the mint will get bitter.

No son! After you muddle the mint in the syrup, add bourbon, crushed ice….stir until glass is frosted, top with ice and mint. It’s our fav in summer!
