If I turn into purple spider man I will let you guys know, but otherwise I’m pretty impressed with how this tomato grows, the flavor and of course the color. I’ve gone back and forth on this topic a bit, and ultimately landed in a place that is a little gray (like most things in life). If you are planning to sell seeds or fruits from these plants, or are worried about hybridizing with other nearby tomatoes then you may not want to grow it (or put little sleeves on the flowers). I have no real desire to sell tomato seeds at this time, and given the added antioxidants and health benefits of these tomatoes I have chosen to grow them and I’m confident in that decision. For those who sprint to the hills at the sound of “GMO” - unless you only consume produce that you, or an organic farm near you produced, use no commercial products, or skin care, and never eat out I have some news for you: you’re consuming GMOs. Make no mistake - I am totally opposed to roundup ready crops and large scale seed patenting, and do my absolute best to educate everyone I know on the dangers of many pesticides. That said, not all GMOs are evil, and things like golden rice, and now the purple tomato, have a powerful opportunity to improve the health of the world. I know this isn’t going to be for everyone, but I am excited to eat and grow these and share them with my friends, family and neighbors. #organicgardening #urbangardening #purpletomatoes #purpletomato #gmotomato #gardentasting #todaysharvest #gardenharvest #gardentoplate #gardentotable #gardeneducation #gardening101 #gardenvariety
