Teck :
Finite without boundary like the game Asteroids. Go far enough, you loop back. I don't think a physical infinity can exist.

If space is finite, then does it have a border or will a straight line eventually bring you back to your starting point?

Why can’t the universe simply be expanding into infinite empty space? Why does infinite space need to be expanding?

Nothing cannot be defined. Because once it is, just like space, it is now something.

have you considered that space isn't expanding? could the photons wavelength be influenced by something to appear redshifted during it's journey to us

In the fabric of space time, space is expanding, so is time also expanding?

I believe that the universe is finite but that it is expanding into a endless empty void and far out into that void it's a different finite universe.
