as long as pup and human understand the marker, reinforcing out of position allows for more repetitions, but doesn't teach duration. Both r important!

I taught my Shetland sheepdog to sit and down. However he is pretty smart I get the treat he sees it and sit then go down. Hahaha

Teaching sit stay as a combo is great. Same with lie down stay as a combo. Usually youd want a dog to stay after sitting or laying down so makes sense
