@houseplusplant: I left for 12 days, here are the steps i took: 🪴 water everything the week before I leave so they’re ready to be watered again the day before/day of departing 🪴 move them back from hot windows (west + south) to cut down on the rate they dry out. More light = more water use 🪴 fill self watering planter reservoirs, humidifier, water bulbs 🪴 add color coded markers for the person coming to help water plants. ex: blue = water if completely dry, red = water if top 1” is dry etc. 🪴 combine all plants that need to be watered into one tub. Most of my plants can go 12 days between watering without much stress, but others will need to be watered after 7 days, I put those in a tub so it’s easier for the person helping me 🪴 adjust grow lights for rub for fewer hours during the day. I go from 14 to 10 to help reduce water usage 🪴 bring plants in from outside to protect from unexpected weather and to reduce moisture loss #plantlady #plantsoftiktok #planttiktok #monsteradeliciosa #stringofhearts #plantpeople #plantroom #houseplants
