I'm getting my master's first to be competitive for ivy league PhD programs , plus my grades in undergrad weren't competitive to go straight PhD

keep in mind that everyone is different! I’m getting my MS before my PhD because I’m an author and I want to get my first book published before my PhD

MS are also discouraged in engineering too. I finished my PhD in ChemE in 4 years with no masters

I’m in a PhD program that lets me get my masters before the PhD. Taking my masters exam In like 2 weeks while already in the program.

Not true….. actually many PHD programs accept most master classes. The problem I see is that most PHD programs are MUCH longer than a masters!

Arts and Social Sciences unfortunately require the masters. I am working on obtaining my Ph.D in Criminology or Criminal Justice and I just made 1/2
