@christzoom: A few days ago I visited 발우공양 Balwoo Gongyang, a Michelin star restaurant in Seoul that serves authentic Temple food in the capital city of South Korea. Opened to promote the culture of Korean temple food, Balwoo is the only restaurant that serves delicate temple cuisine runned by the Jogye Order of Korean Buddhism, serving original temple food of traditional recipes handed down in Korean temples. For those who might not know, Temple food is the food of practice that shares the history of 1,700 years of Korean Buddhism traditions. All vegetables used for its dishes are 100% domestic and organic. Neither dairy nor egg products are used in menus. Also No ingredients that contain ethyl alcohol, fructose, additives and preservatives are used either, and five pungent vegetables of garlic, green onion, onion, leek, wild chive are not used, either.Balwoo Gongyang became the first Korean-style temple food restaurant in the world to receive a Michelin star, you can try different courses. With my friend, we tried the Won(Vow) Course, which includes dishes like- Masil-cheong subak (Water melon marinated in 3 year-old fermented Korean plum sauce, and Modeum-beoseot-gangjeong (Deep-fried assorted mushrooms coated with chilli pepper paste), to finish with Ipgasim(Dessert): Pat-Yang-gaeng (Sweet red bean jelly) and kwak-hyang-cha (Korean mint tea)You might think that at the end of our dinner we were not that full, but actually we kinda did. The whole course was ₩45,000. But there are more expensive options, if you go for lunch time. You might also be able to get the ₩30,000 lunch. #koreatourismorganization #temple #templefood #food #instafood #Seoul #Korea #Restaurant #Michelin #instagood #여행 #먹스타그램
