My podcast launches today 9/9 at 3:00pm on spotify, apple and youtube. It’s called UNPLUGGED with Nicki Marie. It took me 3 years to get the ballz to launch this (overachiever, overthinker, changed mind, worry wart...all of the “things”) but after 3-4 years of reading my comment section + dm’s, I realize that we all deserve MORE humor and MORE connection and MORE support in our lives. This is about admitting what we want for ourselves and admitting that many times, we are in our own way entirely (ouch). I want this to be a space where you think to yourself “it’s ok to be in my self-worth era” and then maybe you will even believe it, and then do it. I GOT YOU MAMA! Is it about divorce? Some of it, yes. The big D (DIVORCE YOU PIGS) was my “tipping point” and how I ended up here entirely. So, without my divorce, you would likely not know me. I want to honor THAT as the why because it rocked my effing world in ways that I would never imagine. Also, I did not set out on my journey to become a MOM VLOGGER or influencer. I was a woman who worked to climb the corporate ladder in hopes that I could keep finding success in the world because I was driven to succeed. It’s in my DNA. So when I “failed” (marriage , loss of job, pandemic pause)... I got really freaking sad and scared and shut down from almost everyone “real” in my life and took to the world of strangers on TikTok...so that I could show up and not have anyone really ask “how are you?”. Instead, I could make people laugh, make effortless connection and be silly, behind my four walls. Now, 4 years later, I am getting my life back on track and I have this longing to allow people to know that it’s ok to be sad but to still keep believing... to have loss but find ways to create new... to have fears but still show up for the possibilities. I believe in myself and I hope I can rub off on you to feel the same about YOU. And maybe find your goofball self again, if he / she got lost along the way. Love you.
