We rebuilt the electric motor on my buddy’s plane.. it was about $500 and took about a week. November will be 3 years and still works perfectly

Keep the old motor and have it rebuilt especially if you expect to replace it in 1000 hours

If i was paying I’d be throwing brushes in it cleaning the commutator and adjusting that belt until it rides in the center of the pully for another 1k

sounds like it might be worth it to look into get that motor rebuilt , theres a guy on here that rebuilds electric motors I don't remember his name
