If you’re left handed I say learn on a right handed kit otherwise it’ll just be a pain if you go to a gig with a setup back line.

I air drummed in front of the person I bought my kit from and he encouraged me to try open handed. It makes way more sense to me.

I strongly recommend lefties play open handed. Switching other people’s kits is so much work!! I switched after a year of lefty and so happy I did.
