GYM REST 😴 (Not A Waste Of Time!) Generally, the longer you rest between sets the more ready you will feel to hit your following sets with a higher intensity 📈 There is no hard rule for rest times, the recommendation is to rest until you are ready to perform the next set That said, short rest periods can reduce the number of reps that can be performed on subsequent sets📉 Recommendations: ~90 seconds is the minimum rest time for optimal performance for upper body or isolation movements (or to keep workout time concise) ⏳ Whereas 2 – 3 minutes is a more appropriate rest time for lower body movements, compound movements or when completing super sets. The main factor that dictates your rest periods will be time available to spend in the gym.
