In Ireland it’s so different! The bride and groom pay for all the bridal party outfits so your never out of pocket when you agree to be a bridemaid.

The marrying couple should pay for the wedding party’s attire/accommodates day of wedding…the rest of the expenses are usually reasonable.

my bridesmaids paid zero, I bought their dresses, shoes, etc and gave them a gift. noone should have to pay to be in someone else's wedding.
