Same thing happened to me in Dublin but they let us take the car by paying extra on a debit card

This happened to us, in Italy, we couldn’t get a car because we didn’t have a credit card but took the money from debit card!

ypu can raise a dispute/charge back if it was a debit card hun - they will ask for all evidence - if nonsuch take to the ombudsman x

I’ve hired a car in america before if you go to a car hire place thats not at the airport you dont need a credit card! I was able to hire on my debit
