Our upstairs neighbor in our apartment years ago had bed bugs so bad they traveled down to our apartment. TAKE THIS SERIOUSLY IT IS AWFUL 😭

They ended up not having bed bugs, just a skin reaction to detergent used on the bedding ie contact dermatitis

I lived in NYC for 11 years. No matter how nice the hotel is, I check it. Bed bugs can happen to anyone.

Hotels really need to start investing in getting mattress covers those things are designed to make sure bed bugs cant nest in the mattress

I work as a housekeeper at an IHG hotel & I check every bed when I go into a room & I clean from top to bottom .

I was told to run a washcloth under hot water and place it under the pillow and wait 20 minutes. The bugs will go to the heat on the towel.

I carry trash bags when I travel. My suit case/duffel bags go in the trash bags once I get to the hotel.

I just feel like we shouldn't have to do that though 😕 Just like we wouldn't check for pests at restaurants. It's a basic standard.
