Please wear a respirator when you’re pulling up that flooring, depending on age the underlying layer could have asbestos.

We had those in our 1930’s house. It was the subfloor under the maple hardwood floor. We could see it from the basement

why do you think that's tongue and groove? sub floors were pine 1x6's. usually on an angle, fastened with 3 8d nails.

I mean you could paint it I guess if you want a cottage look, but it’s rough lumber subfloor, not hardwood flooring
