@theprecolumbiangentleman: A hunchback Comala dwarf figure from Colima, Mexico, circa 100 BC to 250 AD. This piece measures 4 1/2” tall and has a great serene but happy expression. He is depicted with a cap over his head and incised decoration. The hole in the olla on his shoulder serves as the firing hole. These are placed to allow gases to escape during the firing process and keep the ceramic from shattering. Redware hollow figures like this one are extremely rare in this size!
