— growing up I always dreamed of having a laptop since I am into film making and graphic designing but every time I asked my parents they always told me to achieve something or “ug ma honor ka palitan ka” but each time I get to be one of the honor students no laptop “sunod nalang mupalit lagi ta” and yes I know it’s vv expensive to us since we are poor and I definitely understand it. I also remembered every time there’s a competition like NFOT (National Festival of Talents) my media art classmates and juniors will always lend me their laptop just to compete, filming our projects and editing it was vv hard since I have to ask then wait for my turn in our computer laboratory. I also remember when Mama Love would ask me to make school event tarpaulins, birthday/wedding invitations, etc. I always struggle to find PC’s with Adobe Photoshop coz it’s the only app we used before (so glad Canva came tho). Mama Love would bring her laptop or we go to internet cafe’s just for me to work on the designs/layouts. Sometimes I would go to Bvon’s house and would evict him from his own PC (😝) Fast forward pandemic era, everyone was working at home that time and so was my cousin Ate Grace (She works at 51talk). I also applied and tried my luck in ESL industry, got hired at NativeCamp my first ever job, now you’re asking if I have laptop? No, I assembled my boyfriend’s reject parts from his PC then built mine from it (vv laggy LOL) but despite of it all it did not hinder me, I would always talk about those high end laptops, dreaming and manifesting on finding freelance jobs — I was still in college that time. Then slowly earning then saving and invested in my first PC, got clients which I am super duper grateful for. today, on my 23rd birthday I made my younger self proud and got her what she was always dreaming of… a macbook air!!! Delayed gratification is indeed the best gift everrr! — “Malayo na pero malayo pa”. #materialgirl 😜 Ps. Shoutout to ate Christine Nicole Yu ga budol nako hahahaha thanks ateee you know na 😘 Edit: To my bayot thank you so much for everything, ily, to my friends, and family ty!!! ♡
