My parents did this but then had to unplug it for a second to move it to acces soemthing forgot to replug it in 😀 £350 worth of food gone

tip for people who don't have the funds to fill it up with food: putting water in a ziplock and freezing it also helps, or pieces of styrofoam!

You can always fill an empty drawer with a couple of towels if you can’t afford to fill with food!

My Mum used to place plastic bottles with water into the freezer. This also saves your food if you have a longer period without power.

when I was young we used to have a black sack filled with scrunched newspaper in our chest freezer filling space if it was half empty...
