Put a diffuser in there and diffuse peppermint oil nonstop. They hate peppermint.

We are north of you in SC. Getting a regular pest company will help a lot. It’s just needed in this area. Also may try a termite bond

For the door screws for the lock I would suggest longer screws. If someone decided to storm it, it helps to support the lock more.

You can get a pest spray for the perimeter of your home from lowes! It’ll help a lot! You’ll have to spray every year in FL

Lay down the bug sticky traps all over the house. My husband and I love them for small bugs, and larger palmetto bugs. They even catch lizards.

You can also get a rubber attachment that goes along the bottom of the door to prevent them from entering. It slides right on the door at the bottom.

Have you tried having a pest control company treat the outside for roaches? They can treat bushes trees fences. It might stop them from coming in.
