Men don’t have the option of choosing to stay single. And that’s where a lot of their insecurities and projections come from. Men life women to fulfill almost every role in their life. Whether that’s an intimate partner, a mother figure, a teacher, a therapist, a friend. Women don’t have that problem. Women don’t rely on men to fulfill every single role for them. So when a man says to a woman or to me that I’m going to die alone or with my cats, that’s a projection of their own fear. Because men don’t get the option to be single. Because they lack the other deep, intimate connections in their lives relationships. Women don’t have that problem. Women have lots and lots of deep and meaningful friendships and connections of the relationships that they have with men. And when they don’t have that they will die alone. And if women don’t have men in their lives as a relationship, women will be OK. Because we have those other deep connections in our lives. I honestly feel bad for men who project and have such deep insecurities like this one. The patriarchy that they continue to uphold is the very one that does the most damage to them and they just simply can’t see it themselves.
