Explain the importance of making sure each stud u are chaulking is as close to lvl when marking. If it’s not u will get the wrong measurement.

I do the exact same thing but turn the stud flat to the string so it will mark a cut line, no square, no pencil 👍

Also u should explain that u need to level your two starting boards. If u just get them close it will likely be off.

good one. you could also clamp all your studs to get a better square edge and more accurate dimension between each stud.
