sealed / coated nylon was the best upgrade ever. change the hinges & springs and you're good for 10+ years

nylon is better in areas with high moisture too. because steel can rust unless you get stainless

I just replaced the springs on a 600 pound door from 1950 and the steel rollers were all still good

and nylon wears out and your door falls off. quickly if you have kids using door all day bikes such. also steel rollers you know opening closing
