@willettsupcycle: I like to use stripper on veneer pieces. The main reason being it takes away the worry of sanding through the very thin wood 🪵 I used a Eco Friendly, water based stripper by @homesttip thats fab at shifting off old varnish ! use caustic soda mixed with wallpaper paste only cost a few.£££ for approx a gallon same as nitromorse
