u know everyone didn't understand something about gintama, behind all of those comedic moment and unhinged joke, there lies a painful memory for the mc that he mask it with comedy, yess gintama maybe an action comedy based genre with comedy in the heavier side but let me tell u something if u took away all the comedic aspect of it, ur gonna be shock on how heavy the drama side is with everything that happened to gintoki, i always crying when this song playing on the background especially in four devas arc in the series, the struggle that gintoki had u know he was raised in a war and don't have anyone (basically it's like kenshin from rurouni kenshin), and the master found him just sitting in a pile of dead bodies, after that took him under his wing but when the master died being executed by "the crows" (antagonist organization) and they lost the war to stop the amanto, he was captured but being able to runaway and when he on his desperate time, comes granny otose who accidently found him and help him in her late husband grave, and that scene is depicted in the ed-17 of this series in the arc that i just told, it just show how desperate gintoki is as a character, he rlly coping up those painful pain of a memory with his humor through out the entire series, which is the thing a lot of ppl don't wanna understand or didn't wanna see, ohh yeah i forgot something, he also being forced to kill his own master in exchange of his comrade lifes, which is his own friends who also the student of the master that end up hating him for doing all that and create the anti-government group but in a radical way, the memorable scene from this arc is when granny otose tell gin "don't ask permission to eat from me, ask it to my husband bcs that dumpling belong to him", but gin said "dead man can't talk, so as a exchange for this dumpling i promise i'm gonna protect ur wife mr husband" (this scene is in her husband graves), that is the most memorable scene from this arc, that shows u even tho they make everything into comedy but there's that thing there's the emotion of it, soo everytime i heard this song the projection of that scene always in my mind it just emotion.
