1️⃣ You can’t coast. Ever. Your legs move with the pedals 24/7, so going downhill at speed gets wild fast. Learn to spin smooth before you take it anywhere serious. 2️⃣ Skip the “no brakes” aesthetic. A front brake will save your knees, your tires, and possibly your life. Skid stops alone aren’t enough in real traffic — and in many places riding brakeless is illegal. 3️⃣ Gear ratio is everything. Too high and you’ll suffer at every red light. Too low and you’ll spin out at 25 km/h. Most street riders land somewhere around 2.7–2.8 (e.g. 46x17). Test before you commit. 4️⃣ The lockring is not optional. If your cog isn’t locked down properly, it can unscrew mid-ride — usually right when you try to slow down. Torque it correctly and check it regularly. 5️⃣ Foot retention isn’t a style choice. Straps, clips, or clipless — pick one. Without them your feet will fly off the pedals on the first hard skid, and the cranks will keep spinning right into your shins. I personally picked straps so i can also ride my bike without retention. #fixedgear #fixie

They told us our African names were evil. They said God only recognizes English names. Even today we still need English names for baptism. Diaspora in the USA, UK, Germany, France — share this. Wake up. #AfricanNames #Colonialism #BlackHistory #AfricanIdentity #WakeUp
