@belightcare: 👏Help 👏 them 👏 get 👏 up 👏 Frequent falls from individuals with dementia due to them constantly trying to get up may be decreased by simply assisting them in getting up and walking! I know it sometimes doesn’t feel like you have time, but consider how much time you waste telling them to “sit down” and coming over to keep them from getting up. There are many benefits for someone who sits a lot to get up and walk physically, mentally, emotionally, socially, etc! HOWEVER, not everyone with dementia can get up and walk. To know if walking is possible and how to assist someone, please ask for a physical and/or occupational therapy referral! *also, this technique of grabbing their arm is terrible… don’t do it the way I show in this video!* #d#dementiaa#alzheimersl#lewybodydementiav#vasculardementiaf#frontotemporaldementiac#caregiverd#dementiaawarenesss#speechtherapys#slps#speechlanguagepathologisto#occupationaltherapyo#otc#cotap#physicaltherapyp#ptpta

If they keep trying to get out of bed but aren’t ambulatory, sit them up! It helps with orientation
