1. When I was a carer, if I didn't pick up a shift or didnt go in on my rostered day because I was sick, i wouldn't get a shift for 2wks as punishment

The "get a Dr. note" is also a costly exercise. Time and money needed to visit (sometimes can't even get a booking). Most Drs will prescribe rest.
