I own a tablesaw and still use this for rip cuts often. a tablesaw is still a must though

ripping a 4x8 piece of plywood on a table saw can be a real problem. I prefer to use a circular saw. This saw guide looks promising.

Get yourself a sheet of hard foam board insulation. Set your depth on your saw. Cut your boards/ply on top of that. Much easier and balancing on block
