I considered concierge medicine but I don’t want patients calling me all hours of the night. Also those patients tend to be demanding.

In theory, I agree with you. But when my elderly mother’s GP went to concierge model, I decided she should stay with him. Tough call.

In this area drs have to be excellent to be concierge. You should coordinate NPs and PAs and be the team leader to provide more primary care.

My doctors asked but doesn’t require a yearly fee to off set all the paperwork and calls made for patients but he can spend an hour with u!

I refuse to work primary care or for corporate med without adequate compensation. All FM docs need to stand together, otherwise the abuse continues

I’m a huge fan of the DPC model, which doesn’t charge insurance. It works well for ppl maxing out deductibles. Different than concierge in a few ways.

My wife is a doctor. Her Internal medicine residency work starts at 7am but she is expected to be at 6:30am. She is done with it at 7:30pm with 6 days

What’s your take on narrow networks / ACO’s? The days of owning your own practice seem to be fading away. Insurers cut reimbursement, inflation, etc.
