Society believes a lot of bullshit about non-binary people. Like a LOT. 1. I am non-binary therefore I look non-binary. Regardless of what I’m wearing or what my hair looks like. Regardless of whether I am wearing makeup or high heels. I AM non-binary so I always look non-binary. Just like a tree looks like a tree looks like a tree or a cloud looks like a cloud. 2. Is there a specific look to being a woman? Like just one single way to dress which proves women are women. Like all women must be hyper feminine? Or wear like…jeans & doc martens? That sounds totally ridiculous right? There are billions of women with millions of different styles from hyper feminine to masculine & everything in between & none of that effects their gender in anyway. Binary genders have no dress code & non-binary genders (or lack thereof) are no different in this regard. 3. I have a LOT to say about androgyny. Why does it so often get portrayed as looking like thin prepubescent masculinity? What would plus size androgyny even look like? But I think the most important thing to recognise is that non-binary people aren’t just people who experience their gender as a third option outside of male & female. Sure, there are people who have that experience but if you think of gender as the computer 0 1 binary, non-binary people are ♾️. We are infinite, we are everything outside of the rigid cis normative framework of gender so many of us have been taught. It makes NO sense that there would be only one way to be non-binary because by definition we as a group contain multitudes. #NonBinary #NonBinaryPride #NonBinaryFashion #TransNonBinary #WheelchairFashion #DisabledFashion #PlusSizeFashion #CottageCoreAesthetic #Aesthetic
