I do it all the time. I put baking soda and a bit of soap. Works fine. Never had a problem.

you can, if you put a very small amount. It's what I do for a bit of extra clean during the first rinse before the regular dishwashing powder soap.

i ran out dishwasher detergent many times and used dawn soap blue with vinegar as well. now I put about 1/4 top soap and 1c vinegar comes out clean

actually you can! a teaspoon of regulat dish detergent works magic for non-stick/teflon pans that usually cannot be washed in a DW.
