TVR.Cerbi :
Just put the jamb in plumb and level to start with. Makes it easier to hang the door.

Paul D1915 :
you should laser the height and cut each jamb individually. if the hinge side is level you shouldn't have that problem.

Gar Foy :
Place the jamb in the opening and check the head with a 600 level. Latch side needs to go up - fine. Hinge side has to go up - pack it under to level

Equal spacers around the door, throw in. Usually jack the hinge side up a 1/4 to adjust. Should be part of your installing a door scenario

Jeremy Weyburg :
I always chuck 2 packers under the hinge side, that way you can pack the latch side up or just drop a packers on the hinge side

When installing doors on finished floors one must cut the latch and hinge jambs first to assure each sit on the floor without gaps

Literally happens to us on every job. Mark the door way with a level and measure to the floor. Adjust the measurements on the latch side.

I never go off the floor, just plumb the sides and level the top. If theres a gap on the bottom of the frame itll be hidden by flooring

Just put a packer under the hinge side and problem solved, floor covering will cover the gap under the jamb
