No. It was an Akwete woman called Dada Nwakata who started weaving the cloth in Akwete. According to her, she leart it in a dream.

Whether king or chief, it doesn't matter. It might interest you to know that Akwete doesn't have king since 1979. So everyone now is chief and king.
