@blondineabroad: Temple stay in Japan. I stayed for one night at the Ekoin temple at Mt. Koya. At the temple you can try your Kanji skills at Shakyou, meditate, enjoy a hot bath, join the morning prayer and see a fire ritual. I definitely had an amazing time! First settled in 819 by the monk Kūkai, Mt. Koya is primarily known as the world headquarters of the Kōyasan Shingon sect of Japanese Buddhism. There used to be over 2000 temples in this village but nowadays only about 100 remain with about 1000 monks living and training here. #mtkoya #wakayama #wakayamaprefecture #explorejapan #explorewakayama #templestay #japanesetemple #shakyou #ajikanmeditation #visitjapan #japantravel #japantrip #japan #myjapan
