This is so relevant!! I’ve got 10 1ml syringes so far (37 weeks) and I’m so nervous that it’ll be stored incorrect or won’t be able to use it. 💔

Unfortunately if by the time you bring it in it’s at all defrosted we have to put it in the fridge so make sure it’s completely frozen still :)

this happened to me! I gave them my colostrum (at least 40ml) & when I asked for a syringe of it, they took the whole bag out, gave me a syringe

I was told only to bring a small amount with me the hospital also recommended it being brought in 24hrs after birth (once in post birth care)

I only took 3 syringes in with me as the hospital refused to store. It was a faff but worked well. Your poor friend :(

Defo only take a few syringes - if it’s even slightly defrosted, it can’t be refrozen. Midwife not totally at fault here

I had a patient come over postpartum who came from delivery, they kept the frozen colostrum at room temp all labor and I was devestated as the nurse!

This happened to me in July 🙈 I had GD and needed it after 48 hours for babies blood sugars! It had all been in the fridge - wasnt even cold 🥺
