Unfortunately, police cars fault. They should have been prepared for this eventually, especially whilst overtaking on a keep left only road island. We cannot assume the car driver can hear sirens. However, they should have looked in the rear view mirror before any manoeuvre, but it is least expected someone would take the right lane of an island.
