Ok but…. That’s how you twist multi-strand cable before you solder it and heat shrink it. It lays flat and has less air gap between copper.

we learned it in electrical school it's called a Western Union but we only did it with solid single strand wire and put solder over it when you're don

that open splay way they connected that is sposted to be used with an extra wire of solder wrapped in it so you can get an Easier solder joint.
