EP2: Let’s talk about my successes on a #plantbased diet! 🌿 After years of struggling with binge-eating and restrictive dieting culture a focus on whole plant foods finally allowed me to overcome my unhealthy eating habits. I learned so much about nutrition and how to properly nourish my body that as a result I eventually lost the extra weight I was so desperately trying to loose all those years in a way more sustainable way. Above all, I started integrating more and more ingredients and a whole variety of foods into my diet I had never even tried before. Eat the rainbow really became a mantra and I learned so much about new cooking styles and techniques and got a much closer connection to my food and the pleasures surrounding it. Since I was a kid I was dealing with low iron levels, taking supplements on an irregular basis and eventually falling into a refined sugar laden food addiction to make up for the lack of energy. A well balanced plant-based diet with a focus on iron rich foods eventually helped me to stabilize my levels and feel more energized than I ever had before. I recognize that some of these benefits are definitely not exclusive to a plant-based diet and probably more connected to my increasing overall knowledge and focus on nutrition but an interest in a plant-based diet and the healing power of plants is at the root of this journey and prompted me to start living a healthier life, so I’ll forever be grateful for that!
