@africanheritagecity: @roots.galleria • Sundiata Keita, also known as Mari Diata, c 1210. was the founder and first Mansa of the Mali Empire in West Africa from 1235 C.E. to 1255 C.E. Sundiata Keita, created one of the very first oral charters of human rights, the Manden Charter, also known as the Kouroukan Fouga, which has been passed down by generations of Malinke. The oral Manden Charter speaks about peace within a diverse nation, the abolition of slavery, education, and food security, among other things. Under in reign, Mali Empire would become the largest and wealthiest state in the world with much of its wealth coming from the long-distance salt and gold trade with North Africa across the Sahara.  The Empire at the height of its power would stretch fifteen hundred miles from the Atlantic Ocean to the bend south of the Niger River. Sundiata died in 1255. His nephew was one of the richest individuals to ever live, Mansa Musa. #sundiatakeita #lionking #lionprince #malinke #oralstorytelling #africanking #africankings #africangold #ghana #mali #maliempire #africa #arab #mansa #mansamusa #panafricanism #africanhistory #tiktok #blackhistory365 #wecomefromkingsandqueens #africathebeautiful #mansamusa👑
